This is another fun project to do.
Again, Pinterest came through with some fun Halloween ideas to make.
This time we are going to make a “Book of Spells”

This old book seemed to be perfect for a “Book of Spells”.

I glued some Halloween foam shapes to the book. Then painted the cover with thick black school board paint, making sure to leave some ridges and brush marks showing.
Here you can also see how I experimented with Elmers school glue to write the words on the book. It started out nicely, but the more the glue dried, the more it run into nothing legible. As you can see below.

So that did not work out the way I wanted it. Next I wrote the words “Book of Spells”, with hot glue from the glue gun. Now that looked more to what I had had in mind!

Next I experimented with antiquing medium to give the book its old look. Again this did not turn out as I wanted it to. However, this time a bit more paint, some copper accents, and there you are! Finished product!

Even the edges got a bit of copper paint added for a finished look.
In the end, I think it turned out just right. What do you think?
Don’t be shy, leave a reply!
