Luxury and Adventure when Traveling
The great thing about being a traveler is: there are really no rules. Some people enjoy the luxury side of things; others love nothing but culture, whilst others are completely all about the adventure and living “rough” in places like hostels.*
* Hostels provide lower-priced, sociable accommodation where guests can rent a bed, usually a bunk bed, in a dormitory and share a bathroom, lounge and sometimes a kitchen. … In other parts of the world, the word hostel mainly refers to properties offering shared accommodation to travelers or backpackers.
However, there are some people who just enjoy travel so much that they love a good mix of all, because they really do not want to miss out on any experiences. If this is you, then you can still make sure you enjoy the things you love doing. And, whether you are traveling on your next trip alone or with someone else who is all about one way of traveling, both can enjoy the experience.
In this post, we are going to give you a few tips so that you can ensure you enjoy both the adventure side and the luxury side of traveling.
Stay at a resort even part of the time:
You might be the person who likes to lounge around the pool for a day or two and then get off to exploring and taking part in water sports. If this is the case, then you might not need to be in a resort the whole duration of your trip. A good way to do this could be to either book into a resort and spend some time in the morning or afternoon lounging. The other option could be to travel around staying in hostels during your trip. Then check into a luxury hotel or resort spa for the last couple of days to get some pampering and relaxation before heading home.
Book into a day spa:
No matter where you go in the world, you are pretty likely to find things like day spas. You can often book into these on a drop in bases for some luxury and pampering. Some are in high-end hotels. Even if you are staying in a hostel, you can still enjoy the relaxation that a spa and hotel have to offer some of the time.
Book yourself on day trips and group tours:
If you are looking for adventure, but the person you are with is not really into that side of things, then you certainly do not have to miss out. Just as you would when solo traveling, you can always find plenty of organized tours and excursions to join. You will not only have a great time doing the things you enjoy. At the same time, you will also meet really cool people who share the same interests as you.
If you love getting your hands dirty in nature and doing things like hiking, or have interests in farming, you might want to consider doing research to see what kinds of things are available to suit your interests. Some things that might be available are group-walking tours, or spend time on a farm where you can learn about John Deere farm equipment and how to run them and what it takes to run a farm.
Join free walking tours:
Free walking tours are available in almost every city in the world. They are a great way to see the place without getting bored on your own. Plus, the benefit of walking tours is that the guides really know the place. They will show you places that you may not have been able to see on your own. Another great thing about walking tours is that you will be able to meet like-minded people. In addition, they can tell you and help find out about other tours that may be happening. Therefore, this is a great way to get connected to travelers who can help you find more adventures.
These are just a few things to get you started. Be adventures and follow your interests! You might be surprised where the road is taking you.
